A recent incident in Sabah drew the attention of netizens after a billboard belonging to the Parti Warisan candidate for N.13 Pantai Dalit was vandalised during the campaign period of the 2025 Sabah State Election.

Going viral online, a photo of the billboard shows that it was spray-painted with graffiti that read, “PKR Kirim Salam”, which means “Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) sends its regards”.

“We’d just send regards on WhatsApp if we wanted to”

Following the incident going viral, PKR Sabah Information Chief, Razeef Rakimin, released a statement saying that they were informed on 24 November about the act of vandalism on the billboard. Furthermore, PKR Sabah made it clear that they had nothing to do with the act.

He added that the party denies any involvement in the incident, especially since PKR isn’t even fielding a candidate in that area.

“If Keadilan Tuaran wanted to ‘send regards,’ we’d just send a message on WhatsApp, or maybe even drop by the Warisan candidate’s house. Who knows, we might be treated to a strong cup of kopi-o kaw and some kuih penjaram,” he wrote.

“We will fully cooperate to find the culprit”

Razeef added that he and his party are ready to fully cooperate with any investigation to find the person responsible.

“The Tuaran KEADILAN division will work closely with any investigation, whether by Warisan or the authorities, to identify the culprit. We hope that everyone involved in this election will keep the spirit of democracy alive, compete fairly, and avoid sabotage or extreme provocation that could disturb Sabah’s harmony,” he concluded.
