“A huge congratulations and thank you to our medalists and para-athletes for your humbling display of dedication, strength and grit.”
That’s what Grab Malaysia managing director, Sean Goh said to Malaysia’s gold medalists at the recent Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. But that’s not the only way he’s going to express his gratitude.
Malaysia’s three gold medallists, Bonnie Bunyau Gustin, Cheah Liek Hou and Abdul Latif Romly, are all expected to receive 1 million GrabReward points and a year’s worth of free GrabFood orders. Powerlifter Bonnie Bunyau won by breaking the games record in the men’s 72kg category, while Liek Hou and Abdul Latif obtained the gold in the badminton SU5 category and men’s T20 long jump events, respectively, reported Astro Awani.
In the meantime, Jong Yee Khie and Chew Wei Lun, who scored the silver medals for powerlifting and boccia, respectively, will also be rewarded with 500,000 GrabReward Points and a year’s worth of free GrabFood orders. Similarly, shot put athlete Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli, who missed the gold medal despite being listed as Did Not Start (DNS) is also expected to receive the same reward as the silver medallists for his sensational performance and sportsmanship.
Additionally, all the Malaysian Paralympic athletes will also receive a token of appreciation for their contributions to our country.
Sean stated that the fellow athletes have given the nation a great gift of hope and courage by challenging our society’s attitudes towards what we can achieve in life when we’re committed to it.
“And as always, you continue to inspire and motivate us all towards building an inclusive nation,” he added.
He also assured that Grab would continue to create greater inclusivity and equality in Southeast Asia, especially for persons with disabilities (PwD) who seek to be independent and be given the opportunity to be productive members of society.
We certainly feel proud of the athletes’ achievements and they definitely deserved the rewards that await them!
