As Malaysians, we’re no strangers to traffic jams. This jam in Pahang however is quite different because it started out in a rather unique way!

Yesterday (18th April), news about a minister from Pahang riding a bicycle on the road quickly circulated social media platforms.

A Facebook page posted pictures of Dato’ Seri Adnan Yaakob, the Menteri Besar of Pahang, riding his bicycle on the road.

What made this sight even more unbelievable was that he was escorted by police and an ambulance to boot!

Due to the fact that he was riding very slowly on his bicycle, Dato’ Seri Adnan Yaakob and his escorts held up the cars behind them, causing a traffic jam.

Malaysian netizens were definitely not pleased by the minister’s behaviour and took to social media to voice out their collective displeasure.

Many of them pointed out that this was obviously a publicity stunt in an attempt to win over the people just in time for the next General Election.

Others noted that if the MB really wanted to be seen as down-to-Earth and relatable to citizens, he wouldn’t have used police escorts and an ambulance during his entire bike ride.

Of course, what would Malaysians on Twitter be without posting memes in reaction to this (pretty hilarious) situation?
