The Crown Prince of Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah in a statement yesterday (5 September) called on the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to immediately conduct a thorough, transparent and fair investigation into a criminal incident allegedly involving a member of the Pahang Royal family.

In the statement, Tengku Hassanal said that he views the news reports going viral online seriously, alleging that a member of the Pahang Royal family with a group attacked an individual named Alias Awang using sharp weapons and a pistol, causing injuries to the victim in Kuantan, Pahang.

The Pahang Crown Prince said everyone is equal in the eyes of the law

It is believed that the Pahang Crown Prince was referring to a report by Malaysiakini, in which a 44-year-old construction worker in Kuantan claimed to have been stabbed and shot at by a member of the Pahang Royal family.

Accordingly, Tengku Hassanal asserted that if there is any evidence of wrongdoing, the case must be brought to court for prosecution and trial.
