We all know that primates are very intelligent creatures, well, we’re primates ourselves! However, this is probably the first time that we’ve seen a primate open a fridge and take something from it.

In a video that was first posted online by Arthur Chung on Facebook, we see an orang utan standing in front of an open fridge.

The 29-second-long clip shows the primate touching some cans before changing its mind and looking for something else.

The video then cuts to the orangutan finally finding something it likes, and it proceeds to tilt the object to pour the liquid into its mouth.

After that, it seems to have gotten what it came for, so it took one item before leaving the premises.

According to the captions, this video was taken at the Keruing Cafe, located in the Rainforest Discovery Centre in Sepilok.

Many netizens were amused with the orang utan‘s antics and left mischievous comments.

“Please quickly catch him, PDRM! He did not pay!”

“It’s his place, of course, he doesn’t have to pay,” said a user.

Well, we think carbonated drinks may not be their drink of choice as they can be hard to open even for humans.

If you ever encounter any primates in the wild, it is advisable not to feed them as this may negatively impact them.
