PDRM Officer Killed While On Duty in Seremban After Being Run Over by a Drunk Bezza Driver

A police constable was tragically killed after his motorcycle was hit by a car along Jalan Temiang, near Sekolah Kebangsaan Temiang, Seremban, yesterday (August 18).

The incident occurred at 1:01 AM, when the 23-year-old sustained severe injuries, and he was pronounced dead at 2:24 AM while receiving treatment in the emergency ward.

The driver was believed to be intoxicated

Sinar Harian quoted Seremban District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din as saying that the Perodua Bezza driver, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, lost control of the car and swerved into the opposite lane before crashing into the victim.

“Checks revealed that the driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, who was riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle, was on the way from Seremban to Temiang.

The crash left the victim, who was on duty at the time, with serious head injuries. He was rushed to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ) for further treatment.

The driver sustained minor injuries

Mohamad Hatta said the driver of the Perodua Bezza, a 26-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and has been detained for further investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and investigations are still ongoing.

He added that anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Inspector Mohd Shahrizan Khairi, at 019-8461792, or head to the nearest police station to assist with the case.
