The Old Money Club in Malaysia recently gained the attention of many Malaysians, especially when the organization offers a lifetime membership of RM249.

The club was once again mentioned when an unknown alleged member of the organisation spilt some tea. According to the stranger, he said that every member who participated in the “cult” would be paid RM100.

“I was paid RM100 for every 10,000 likes they receive on social media. I am one of the guys in the group. So far, I’ve made more than RM2,000.”

The confession was made anonymously and was shared on the X page @meinmokhtar.

The Malaysian Old Money Community Club was well aware of the allegations and last night (November 18), the organisation responded to the matter via a press release shared on its Instagram page @oldmoneyclub.my.

According to them, the RM100 per 10,000 likes is nothing but mere defamation.

“We would like to stress that this is pure defamation and a baseless accusation. Our engagement and likes are organic and we have NEVER paid any parties.”

The club also reiterated that the engagement of their posts was gained from the community who support the club and appreciate the values that the Old Money Club is trying to highlight.

“The result came from the hardwork, creativity and effort from all members of the Old Money Club.”

In the statement, the club also reminded the public that they will not hesitate to take legal action against the responsible party if they do not withdraw their statement.

Old Money Community Club Malaysia also urged the public to focus on the positive values that the group aims to spread – financial management, wealth based on ethics, and efforts.

“We hope everyone will give us the opportunity to develop further and share the benefits with all of you.”

In case you are not aware, Old Money refers to inherited wealth, or rich people whose families have been wealthy for a long time, as explained in the Cambridge Dictionary.
