Recently, UMNO Youth Chief, Dr Akmal Saleh, said that ‘cyber troopers’ were hired to criticise him as he spoke up about the issue of the alleged fake Halal logo on ‘Ham & Cheese’ sandwiches.
Now, another politician is also sharing their opinion on this matter.
Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister and Teluk Intan MP, Nga Kor Ming, took to his X account to share his definition of the word ‘ham’, while including his belief that those who are making an issue out of this are not so intelligent.
He wrote, “Ham and cheese. Ham means a process of making food, and we have turkey ham and chicken ham, which is perfect for consumption. Same goes for Root Beer, which is made from sassafras root, which is non-alcoholic and good to drink. To make an issue out of it simply shows who is the real idiot.”
Netizens tell him to look at the bigger picture
While some agreed with the Minister, many more people pointed out that there’s a bigger issue regarding the ‘Ham and Cheese’ incident, which is the alleged fake Halal logo.
“The issue here is that they faked the JAKIM Halal logo. If you want to spin things, go play with a (washing) machine.”
“It’s best if you keep quiet. You don’t understand the context. In fact, you’re a Minister. It’s not about the terminology, it’s about the (fake) Halal logo.”
“Be quiet! The problem now is why did they display a JAKIM Halal logo when they didn’t actually get Halal certification? Don’t embarrass the voters of Teluk Intan, please.”
