Though it is not uncommon to find tyre shops and private online sellers selling new old stock items, it is also common to find these types of tyres cheaper and you won’t be expected to pay full price for it.
That’s not the case with this customer.
Taking to social media, he slammed this shop for selling new old stock tyres at the price of new ones and refused to refund the customer for their ‘mistake’.
“I changed my tyres a few days back. I only remembered to check the codes today. I found out that the tyres were manufactured in 2019, but I paid the price of new tyres instead.”
Things did not go well for this customer. Having arrived at the shop, the owner simply said the new tyres he wanted was not in stock.
“Why was I not informed that you will be replacing my tyres with old ones? You gave me tyres that were manufactured in 2019, this is already 2023.”
At this point, the owner simply mentioned that they did not know that the tyres were dated, and that is how they usually ordered their tyres.
Reluctantly, the shop finally gave in, and gave him a new set of tyres. At this point the owner repeated the fact that they did not know that the tyres were dated, and that they simply made the order in the first place.
“Don’t lie to me. You are the owner of a tyre shop, it is impossible for you not to know the difference between old and new tryes.”
In the thread, one netizen mentioned that purchasing new old stock should be 30% below the market price.
