A 2-year-old kid was almost kidnapped by a man in Sungai Buloh recently. Not only was the plan foiled but the suspect was also arrested by PDRM.

Just yesterday (October 28), PDRM in Sungai Buloh confirmed that the suspect – a Nepalese man attempted to kidnap the victim because he missed his kids who are currently back in his hometown.

“The suspect misses his kids, who are both around the age of the victim. He claimed that he last saw his kids last year during Aidilfitri.”

Sungai Buloh district Chief Police, Mohd Hafiz said the suspect began to behave irrationally as he longed for his kids. The suspect was referred to the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health at Sungai Buloh Hospital, and the police are awaiting the hospital report.

Mohd Hafiz also stated that they would check the suspect’s entry and exit status in the country and the authenticity of his Temporary Employment Visit Pass (PLKS).

The attempt to kidnap

The Nepalese man posed as a cleaner and attempted to abduct a 2-year-old boy in Kampung Bunga Raya on October 22 around 12:40 PM when the child was playing alone.

The suspect’s actions were thwarted after the residents noticed the incident and apprehended him before handing him over to the police.

The child’s 30-year-old aunt, who was also present, managed to pull the child away from the suspect’s grasp before he fled. The case is being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code for abduction.
