Nature calls, but it’s never an excuse to relieve yourself where you’re NOT supposed to.

A woman in Singapore recently decided to ignore this and urinated in an MRT which was headed towards Jurong East.

The incident took place on Monday (August 29) around 12:30am and Asia One reported that prior to the incident, the woman, who appeared to be in her late 20s, did not have her mask on.

She was constantly coughing and was initially laying down on the seats before she got up and walked 3 coaches ahead. She then found her “relieving spot” at one of the seats in the corner, took off her shorts and began urinating. If you look at the image closely, her urine could be seen flowing on the floor.

As expected, it shocked the passengers and one of them immediately left his seat and went to the next coach. The unidentified woman then descended the MRT at the Jurong East station.

According to Singapore’s Environmental Public Health Regulations, it is an offense for the public to urinate and defecate in the public.

“No person shall urinate or defecate in or upon any street, arcade, vacant land, river, canal, ditch, drain or watercourse or in any place to which the public has access except in any sanitary convenience provided for such purpose.”

If found guilty, you may be slapped with a fine of up to SGD1,000 (approximately RM3,198) for the first offence. Repeat offenders will find themselves paying up to SGD2,000 and SGD3,000 (approximately RM6,398 and RM9,597) for the second and third offences, respectively.

Regardless of where you are, you should keep public spaces clean for the convenience of other users. What would you do if you happened to bump into someone who was urinating in public?
