Running a business is tough. There are many costs to bear such as marketing costs, startup costs, cost of ingredients and so forth.

So, when revenue and profits are insufficient, things can get stressful, causing business owners to act selfishly.

Recently, a video showing a heated argument between some roadside stall owners has gone viral. The incident is believed to have taken place near Plaza VADS in TTDI.

In the video that has been widely circulated, a nasi lemak stall aunty who seems to have been doing business at that particular spot for a long time could be seen scolding the owner of the stall next to her.

She was infuriated that they were selling the same item as her, nasi lemak.

“Tomorrow I don’t want to see your nasi lemak stall here!”

Feeling extremely attacked, the second stall owner shouted back, “I didn’t even disturb you! Each of us has our own stream of income.”

She also added that she only opened a stall there upon some customers’ requests, which the first aunty dismissed.

Additionally, the nasi lemak aunty along with a man can be heard mentioning the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) as they tried to defend “their spot” on the curb.

She also insulted and cursed at the owner of the one month old stall in attempts to chase them away.

Malaysians condemned the aunty

Online, netizens condemned the aunty’s attitude and called her immature.

“If you want to do business, don’t behave like a child. Although the menu is the same, there is nothing wrong.”

They also shared how having multiple stalls selling the same or similar items should not be an issue because it is up to the customer to decide on the stall they want to buy from.

“My place has rows of stalls selling nasi lemak. Things are chill,” said a user.

Additionally, some made fun of the nasi lemak aunty by saying that she is probably so salty because her nasi lemak is not tasty.
