Earlier today (17th January), Democratic Action Party (DAP) adviser Lim Kit Siang claimed that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was banking on Barisan Nasional’s (BN) win in the upcoming Cameron Highlands by-election so he could return as prime minister. According to the Malay Mail, the DAP adviser said in a statement,
“The Cameron Highlands by-election will be the opening shot of this new Najib plot to return as Prime Minister of Malaysia in the 15th General Election, which will grant him immunity and impunity for the 1MDB scandal.”
“If BN can recapture Putrajaya in the 15th General Election and Najib returns as Prime Minister, then he would be able to frustrate any attempt to jail him in Sungai Buloh Prison for the 1MDB scandal and crimes of a global kleptocracy in his premiership.”
In response to his statement, Datuk Seri Najib took to Facebook once again to share his sentiments about the DAP adviser.
“I don’t understand why Lim Kit Siang is obsessed with me until he is forced to issue statements attacking me on a daily basis, even though I’m no longer the prime minister or president of UMNO and BN.”
“Does Kit Siang no longer want to find the truth behind the deaths of Altantuya, Teoh Beng Hock, Kevin Morais, and Hussain Najadi, which he has always linked with me before this?”
“More than 3 months ago, my aide has helped Kit Siang investigate the truth by filing a police report against me in relation to those previously mentioned cases.”
“Is Kit Siang not interested anymore, or is he already admitted to falsely accusing me of these crimes for the past few years?”

Following this post, Najib then posted photos of him at Cameron Highlands among his supporters. His post reads,
“I have reached Cameron Highlands. I only came here to buy strawberries. Don’t stress so much, DAP.”
Dah sampai Cameron Highlands. Saya datang ini nak beli strawberi saja. Jangan stress sangat lah DAP.
In another post, he also shared photos of him with the local Orang Asli community in Cameron Highlands, saying,
“Lim Kit Siang told me if I was brave, then I would meet with the Orang Asli. Alright, I met them. I think that the Orang Asli community knows who they can trust to represent them.”
Lim Kit Siang kata kalau berani jumpalah orang asli.Okay, saya jumpa. Saya rasa masyarakat Orang Asli tahu siapa yang mereka boleh percaya dan mahu untuk wakili mereka.
