On March 6, 2 secondary school students lost their lives in an accident after their motorcycle was hit by a car when the driver allegedly ran a red light on Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1, Seremban.

Another similar case happened in Nilai on March 10 (Monday), where motorcyclists got hit by a car driven by a 38-year-old woman who allegedly ran a red light on Jalan Felda Sendayan.

The driver collided with 2 motorcyclists

Sinar Harian reported that a 45-second video of the crash had gone viral on social media, showing the car slamming into 2 motorcyclists.

Nilai District Police Chief, Superintendent Abdul Malik Hasim, said the accident involved a Perodua Myvi, a 21-year-old woman on a Honda Dash, and a 52-year-old man on a Yamaha LC.

“Based on initial investigations, the car was heading from Bandar Sri Sendayan towards Nilai, while both motorcyclists were coming from Gadong towards Sendayan.”

The driver was unharmed

According to Malik, the car allegedly ran the red light while the motorcyclists had the right of way.

As a result, the Honda Dash rider ended up with serious injuries, while the Yamaha LC rider only had minor ones. Both were taken to Hospital Tuanku Jaafar (HTJ) for treatment.

The driver of the car was unharmed, and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Investigations are still ongoing, and anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Inspector Muhammad Farid Danial Azli, at 012-9122198.
