No business owner wants to have any positive Covid-19 cases within their premises but even if the SOPs are followed diligently, there’s still a chance for the virus to spread. However, the best approach is to always be transparent about the cases, be clear of the steps that have been taken in order to minimize the spread and take accountability in regards to the issue. The best example can be seen from myBurgerLab, which, unfortunately, shared that there are two positive cases at their Bangsar branch.

As updated in the official Facebook page, the Bangsar branch is temporarily closed and all their team members there are currently being placed under self-isolation within their respective locations. From the two cases, only one member was working at the branch from the 15th to 21st February and the other one might have contracted the virus from a different area altogether as he was only at the premises on the 5th of February.

Apart from taking accountability and apologizing for the inconvenience caused, myBurgerlab has also offered to refund customers’ payment if they go for the swab test. They wrote,

“If you have dined in with us last week (15th-21st Feb) at our Bangsar outlet, and if you are worried, please get yourself checked and send the bill to us, I will personally refund your Covid test. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

Kudos to myBurgerLab for being very transparent and responsible in handling the issue. We hope more businesses, be it SME or any major cooperation can emulate such move. SOPs can help fight the virus but being transparent could also limit the spread of the virus.
