Apart from being known for his controversial remarks, UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan is also known to indulge in a bit of cooking here and there.

His innovative recipes in the past have caused debates, such as his nasi goreng strawberry.

Recently, Maslan shared a recipe for a nasi goreng he made on Twitter, drawing plenty of praise from Malaysians.

Nasi

In his tweet, Maslan shared that he had cooked for his family and that the dish which was served on a banana leaf, was made with rice, spring onion, ginger, eggs, anchovies, asparagus, turmeric, tomato sauce, salt, flavouring enhancers and cooking oil.

Hungry for more

His post has since gone viral on the platform as it drew plenty of praise by Malaysians who said that the dish made by him looked amazing!

“I already know this nasi goreng is delicious. Now I’m hungry…”

Some netizens commented on his choice of including asparagus into the fried rice.

Meanwhile, others urged Ahmad Maslan to either join forces or have a cooking contest with his rival, former Minister of Defence Mohamad Sabu, who is also well known to whip out a quick meal or two.

“Imagine fried rice by Ahmas Maslan and fish head curry by Mat Sabu. Solid!”, commented a user.

Another tagged Netflix Malaysia to suggest that the both of them should have a special cooking show where they travel to each state to learn its local cuisine from a local restaurant and then go on to compete on who can do it best.

In fact, it even Zahid Hamidi said that it looked delicious and told Maslan to bring it to the office next time.

We do really hope that either a recipe book or a cooking show is in the works!
