If the food that you’re selling is good and has gained a strong fanbase, chances are people will be happy to queue for hours regardless of the weather, just like the line for viral Akka Nasi Lemak.
A TikToker and businesswoman, Kieda has been selling crepes in Penang but her fanbase stretches all the way outside the state. Just recently, Kieda recently visited Shah Alam for a “tour” so that her fans can check out the menu that she offers back in Penang.
Little did she know, the crowd swamped the location at Stadium Shah Alam, which the organiser described as “like the crowds that came for semi-finals”.
The management of the stadium estimated that about 5000 people came to the scene to buy her desserts but unfortunately, the process was hectic before the day ended. Some customers lost their patience for waiting too long until fights ensued, as revealed via her Facebook post.
“Some fought among themselves. Some lost their patience and wanted to fight with my husband when he couldn’t satisfy their needs, and some even hit the hand of my employee because they thought he didn’t handle the crowd well,” Kieda expressed.
She also said that the crowd was truly unexpected and it was impossible for her team to handle the massive group of people. Despite the major criticism, Kieda said that she felt grateful for the opportunity and revealed that some visitors were actually kind enough to share some business tips with her.
“Some even criticised me like there was no tomorrow. Regardless, I’m grateful. God gave me the opportunity to learn to be patient.”
In another post, Kieda claimed that some customers lined up for nearly 7 hours before they got to buy the crepes. She also apologised to Shah Alam residents for not being able to satisfy all the customers’ needs and thanked them for their continuous support.

We’re only humans and everyone is prone to making mistakes that will teach them a valuable lesson or two. Regardless, will you queue for long hours just to get a food?
