The flash floods have led to the rise of many local heroes who have selflessly volunteered to help those in need. Local companies have also pledged to help those in need by offering services, items and even financial support.
Recently, it was announced by Decathlon Malaysia that in light of the recent floods, they would be temporarily suspending all sales of their inflatable kayak boats, stand up paddle, paddles and life jackets in order to keep a complete stock available for priority for the official NGOs and Malaysian authorities.
They also urged any representatives of government bodies or NGOs to contact them via call for any further assistance and inquiries.
The good news was also spread by Malaysians on social media who praised the sports goods company for their response towards flood relief.
One netizen shared their experience of going into a Decathlon store in search of a life jacket. “Guess what? The promoter said; ‘I’m sorry bro. All the buoyancy aid items such as life jackets, paddles and kayaks have been sent for the flood relief mission. At all Decathlon stores.”
The netizen upon hearing the news, was delighted at the fact that Decathlon is helping those in need.
