Lamp poles and roadside plants are usually erected separately on sidewalks, not intertwined and on tar!

Netizens are shocked

The video with about 24,000 views has gained the attention of netizens with half of them finding the sighting funny and the other half worried about how dangerous the contraption is.

“This pole is to protect the pretty plant from being struck dead.”

“The lamp pole is from the Japanese colonial period. So, it’s an artifact. We can’t move it.”

“That’s the short cut to Hogwarts.”

Those who were concerned about the position of the lamp pole asked about who was responsible for its construction.

“Terrible. Who should take responsibility?? Very terrible.”

“Wait till someone meets with a fatal accident. Then only will they take action. ‘Who’s the state assemblyman? ask him to do his job'”

“If the lamp post is damaged, it’ll be dangerous at night. All sorts of things can happen.”

Update: According to videos shared on the Facebook page, Kelab Info Malaysia, TNB has removed the lamp pole-plant contraption.
