Ever since the pandemic, many things have changed about the way that people travel. However, it seems that things have started to get back on track.

On 24 November, China’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement offering passport holders of 5 European countries (France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain) and Malaysia, visa-free travel to their country, reports China Daily.

Passport holders of the stated countries will be able to travel to China for business, tourism, family visits and transit purposes without applying for their visa, however, the catch is that this is only applicable to stays that are less than 15 days.

If a traveller from any of those countries mentioned above wants to stay more than 15 days in China, they will need to apply for a visa at the Chinese Embassy located in their country.

This visa-free travel period will start on 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024.
