If you like to plan your travels ahead of time, especially for public holidays or religious celebrations, then Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s (KTMB) new ticketing system got you covered.

In a statement recently, KTMB said that it is gradually implementing a new ticketing system concept that allows travellers to book its Electric Train Services (ETS) and Intercity trains 6 months in advance.

According to the announcement, the new system would be implemented starting tomorrow (30 July) and moving forward, all tickets up to 6 months ahead would be sold beginning the 30th day of each month throughout the year.

For example, starting tomorrow, you can purchase ETS or Intercity train tickets for any date for the next 6 months, or up until the end of January 2024. On 30 August, you can purchase tickets up to February 204, up to March 2024 on 30 September and so on.

KTMB asserted,

“This new concept allows travellers to plan their journeys up to 6 months in advance for holiday or going back to their hometowns, especially during public holidays or major national celebrations,”

KTMB further added that ETS and Intercity tickets would go on sale beginning 12pm on the 30th day of each month, while tickets for its Tebrau Shuttle service to Singapore start at 10am.
