If you’re a Kota Bharu resident or have visited the Kelantan capital before, you’d know of the Lembah Sireh Bus Terminal, a temporary bus terminal in the town while waiting for the construction of a new Kota Bharu Sentral, the state’s public transportation hub centre.

However, despite being a temporary bus terminal, the Lembah Sireh Bus Terminal has been anything but temporary since being built some 14 years ago. Suffering from many delays over the years, the proposed Kota Bharu Sentral is touted for completion at the end of 2026 according to the then Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob in a statement last year.

Before vs before?

With this context in mind, a video about the temporary bus terminal has gone viral on social media recently, showing the ‘before and after’ of the Lembah Sireh Bus Terminal using a TikTok transition effect.

Reposted from TikTok on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @Fernandinies, the post has garnered over 150,500 views and more than 1,900 likes as of the time of writing.

The video shows the bus terminal during the day and after a fancy video transition effect, the same terminal during night time.

Usually done to showcase a ‘glow-up’ of sorts or the stark difference from the present condition to its prior state, the video played with the trope for comedic effect, as there’s absolutely nothing different about the bus terminal except for the time of day they were recorded.

In the captions, @Fernandinies asserted,

“Usually people do before vs after, they do before vs before.”

They got us in the first half, not gonna lie!

In the comments, many Malaysians expressed their amusement at the video, sharing how they weren’t left disappointed even after seeing literally no difference between the fancy transition effect.

One commenter said that the only difference was the first part was recorded in the morning while the second part was recorded at night.

Besides that, one commenter joked that the first part looked like a cow stable while the second part also looked like a cow stable. Meanwhile, another Malaysian said that the video is the “transition we never thought we ever needed,”.

The original video was posted by a TikTok parody account

The video was originally posted on TikTok by user @terminalbaskotabharu and performed even better on the platform, garnering over 367,500 views as of the time of writing.

While the bio of the page claims that the account is the “official TikTok account of the Kota Bharu Bus Terminal”, don’t be fooled as it’s actually a parody page that makes content based on the Kelantan bus terminal.

This can be ascertained by the replies the account made to comments on its videos, which are most of the time very rude and crude.

Now that we’ve got the disclaimer out of the way, you can watch the video here:
