Truth or dare? Many of us will choose truth and refrain from doing a dare as there is no certainty of what we would be asked to do.
A Malaysian singer and YouTuber, on the other hand, recently dared himself to do something in the upcoming Chinese New Year – to wear nothing but ONLY underwear during the celebration! What actually “possessed” the YouTuber, Choo Hao Ren to come up with such a bizarre idea?
It has something to do with legendary Hong Kong filmmaker and comedian, Stephen Chow. No, Stephen did not ask Hao Ren to put on an underwear. Let’s rewind the clock a little.
Earlier this year, Hao Ren and his fellow team of singers, known as the Steady Gang released a new music video for the CNY, titled 《周星翅》 “Zhou Xing Chi”, a wordplay on Stephen’s full name. The MV is a “love letter” to some of Stephen’s best films in the 90s, where he also dressed up as some of the characters from different films in the video. In a recent IG post, Hao Ren tried to get Stephen’s attention.
“If everyone bands together and tags Stephen Chow, do you think he’ll notice? If he responses, I’ll go everywhere on CNY in just an underwear, regardless of where I go.”
Hao Ren even tagged Stephen himself in the post and said, “Stephen, give me a chance. Look at this post”.
Well, Hao Ren, as you wish. The legendary Stephen himself is well aware of it, and he has reposted your story. Hao Ren’s friends made sure he knew about it and reminded him to keep his promise.
In response to Stephen’s IG story repost, Hao Ren hinted that he will keep his promise, no matter what.
“I’m more than happy to NOT wear anything! But let’s just stick to what I’ve promised,” Hao Ren revealed in an IG story.
It’s only about 10 days left to CNY, with the 1st day of the celebration expected to fall on February 10. Do you think fans will get to see Hao Ren strolling around in underwear?
