M’sian Woman Wants to Break Up With BF Just Because He Didn’t Literally Appear in Her Dreams

Breakups can be hard, especially if you’ve been in that relationship for a long time but life goes on. As the old adage goes, it is better to have loved than never to have loved at all.

Recently, one Malaysian breakup story went viral on social media due to the circumstances surrounding the split, particularly the reason given by the girlfriend who requested the break.

As shared by the Facebook group B40 Buat Perangai Apa Harini, screenshots of a conversation between a dumpee and his dumper have enthralled Malaysians, many of whom were perplexed at the girlfriend’s reasoning.

Get this, the woman asked for a breakup with her boyfriend simply because the man didn’t literally appear in her dreams. The post has since gone viral with over 1,300 reactions and more than 253 shares.

In the post, 4 screenshots of the conversation were shared, showing the boyfriend trying to convince his girlfriend to not break up with him but to no avail.

The conversation screenshots began midway through the argument between the couple whereby it was alluded that the girlfriend had performed the Salat al-Istikharah, roughly translated to English as the Prayer of Seeking Counsel, a prayer recited by Muslims who are in need of guidance when facing a decision in their life.

While not expressly stated in the conversation, it was alluded that the girlfriend had performed the prayer to decide whether or not she should stay in the relationship with him.

The girlfriend claimed that the boyfriend didn’t literally appear in her dreams following the prayer and that was the reason why she wanted to break up. She even claimed to have performed the prayer for one week.

Despite the boyfriend trying hard to convince the girlfriend to stay, she remained indifferent, and stressed that she wanted to break up with him.

In the penultimate screenshot, the boyfriend again asked for her to stay and to give a reason behind wanting to break up, promising he can fix any mistakes that he did, to which the girlfriend replied,

“No reason. But I want to break up. Please lah.”

In the final screenshot, when asked by the boyfriend why she would want to break up without a reason, she again stressed,

 “So? I don’t care. I didn’t see you in my dreams. So that’s it. Stop lah.”

As the screenshots ended there, it is unknown what happened next and whether the couple did indeed split up.

In the comments, many Malaysians advised the boyfriend to simply let the girlfriend go and move on as it was clear that she no longer wants to stay in the relationship.

Furthermore, some even argued that the woman’s claim of not seeing him in her dreams is simply an excuse she made up to end the relationship.

One commenter said that the boyfriend needs to move on as the girlfriend clearly didn’t value the relationship. Meanwhile, another commenter advised the man to move on and find someone new who would fight for the relationship, not someone who’d easily initiate a breakup.
