In the latest update to the case, it was revealed that the suspect has no record of mental health treatment in Terengganu.

This is according to the Terengganu State Health Department Director Datuk Dr Kasemani Embong, who was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that no record of mental health treatment for the woman was found in any state health facilities thus far.

However, Dr Kasemani said that it was unsure whether the woman had sought any mental health treatments in other states.

Malaysians’ perception of mental health needs to change

She further urged Malaysians out there with family members who have mental health issues to bring them for treatment.

Dr Kasemani asserted,

“Don’t be embarrassed to get treatment for mental health issues. Our society needs to change the perception of mental health.

“We also must support them so that they can get the necessary treatment so that they get better in the future.”
