A recent incident has gone viral online involving the sexual harassment of a woman on a motorcycle in Kuala Lumpur on Monday (6 April).
In the video, the woman is seen stopping at a red light. The footage, captured by another road user, shows the moment an unknown man appears to get off the back of her motorcycle.
Victim targeted whilst waiting at traffic lights
In a Threads post, @sleepyfvs claimed that the victim, who is her friend, was groped on her chest when a man suddenly climbed onto her motorcycle.
She shared:
“He actually got on her bike and groped her chest? Sickening. He’s not crazy; he’s just a sexually perverted man hanging around the roadside.
“It wasn’t just my friend, either. There were a few other cases, and one even happened right in front of her while she was out looking for this guy in the area.”
In the thread’s comments, the victim herself (@intcms) reassured netizens that she is safe and provided an update stating that the man has since been apprehended.
“He’s been caught. If he really has mental health issues, he’ll be sent to Hospital Bahagia; if not, the case will proceed in court,” she wrote.
The suspect targeted another victim before arrest
Taking to her own Threads account, Intcms recalled the events following the incident. She explained that she went back to search for the man, only to find that he had already targeted another victim.
When she confronted him, he attempted to escape several times. However, Intcms and members of the public managed to detain him and alert the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), who arrived shortly after.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Sleepyfvs and Intcms expressed their hope that the public remains alert and offers assistance if they witness similar incidents.
“Things like this aren’t impossible to happen again to someone else,” they said.
Intcms also mentioned that she is currently awaiting further updates from the police regarding the next steps in the legal process.
