One of the most exciting parts about visiting Ramadan bazaars is exploring the various stalls that serve a variety of dishes and cuisines. But while most of us are on the hunt to find foods that’ll whet our appetites, a particular bazaar in Kedah has been making waves online for, literally, how wide it is.
Malaysian motivational speaker Sabran Sahab recently shared a video to his TikTok page @sabransahab regarding a Ramadan bazaar at Taman Ria, which is located in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Cheekily speaking on just how much space was taken up by the bazaar, Sabran whipped out his drone to capture its full sight, jokingly dubbing it “the longest Ramadan bazaar in the world“.
Sitting at the entrance of the bazaar, Sabran sat patiently as he lifted his drone in the air, catching a glimpse of it entirely. At one point, Sabran flew his drone to a height of 350m, just to get a visual of the bazaar in a singular shot. Crowded with individuals at every corner, the bazaar went on for what seemed like miles and miles, though the seamless shot from Sabran made it seem much quicker.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Sabran revealed that while he is not sure how long the Taman Ria bazaar really is, it stands as one of the longest in Kedah.
After doing some sleuthing of our own, WORLD OF BUZZ discovered in a report by Sinar Harian that the bazaar stretches 500m long!
Capturing the attention of many, a plethora of people were shocked by how long the bazaar really was, saying that it seemed much bigger than other ones they have seen before. Nevertheless, a few took the visual in stride and made jests in its direction, saying that should they walk through the bazaar to browse each stall in the evening, they’d only come out when it is time to break fast.
“Walk inside during the evening, by the time you come out, it’s time for sahur in the morning,” jokingly added one user.
