The Internet has allowed us to connect with people whom we might have never spoken to ever before and has even proven useful in helping us to reconnect us with our lost loved ones.
Recently, the power of social media is in need once again as a Malaysian has turned to Twitter in hopes of reconnecting with her childhood friend from when she used to live back in Scotland.
In a post on Twitter, @_nxjwafuad wrote, “HELP ME FIND MY LONG LOST FRIENDS!!!”
“Hi, I’m Najwa. I used to live in Stirling, Scotland from 2000-2004. I’m trying to find my bestie from that time, her name is Bobbi Smith (that’s literally the only thing I remember). We went to Bridge of Allan Primary School.”
She shared a couple of pics from their yearbook of her and Bobbi sitting next to each other.
“We were classmates from Year 1 – Year 3, I remember our class teacher from Year 1 as Mrs Anderson and Year 2 as Mrs Pollack (I think). Other classmate names that I remember are Andrew, Sarah, Lauren and Belinda? I don’t remember their surnames,” she added.
Najwa also said that she has posted this on TikTok as well but she doubts that she would get any reach there. “I’ve tried searching myself to no avail too.. I used to have their numbers and addresses but I lost the book back when we renovated our house,” she said.
Search leads elsewhere
Her search led her to reconnect with another friend from her childhood. “Ya’ll I tak jumpa Bobbi yet but I found some fellow Malaysians at that time which is so cooolllll. I have little memory of this picnic but that’s me and Sarah!”
“I haven’t found Bobbi yet but I found another fellow Malaysian and turns out we’ve met before,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, her search is not over just yet. Despite all of the help she has gotten from fellow Malaysians, she has not been able to reconnect with Bobbi just yet.
In a recent update, Najwa wrote, “UPDATE but not really, I have a lead and have messaged her, waiting for a reply! I think its her based on her pictures but I’m not 100% sure. This has gotten to Stirling guys! I’m so close.”
We hope that the two do manage to get reconnected and catch up on all the lost years together!
