Kids really look forward to holidays. It’s a chance for them to take a break from school, have fun, and forget about homework for a while.

A touching story unfolded when a Facebook account Maahad Tahfiz AlQuran AlUzma Lilaitam – Yatim & Asnaf, shared a photo of a student sitting alone during school break in Kelantan.

The caption reads,

“1001 stories. Only He knows the real story. While friends are back home for the holidays, only he is left behind. Left behind because no one cares.”

The picture of the student sitting by himself on a bench, likely in the Tahfiz center’s courtyard, has garnered sympathy from netizens online.

It is even more heartbreaking to learn that the student is anticipating the arrival of Ramadhan and Shawwal at the school, without the presence of his family by his side.

It was reported that the student is not an orphan, but his parents and guardians cannot be located or contacted. It’s possible that he will fast and celebrate Eid with the ustaz at the Tahfiz.

Netizens began flooding the comment section, with some even sharing their own experiences.

“I’ve had a similar experience in my life back in my boarding school days from Form 1 to 3. My friends were incredibly kind; they would invite me over to their homes. I would rotate between Friend A’s house, then Friend B’s, and then Friend C’s. Their parents would warmly welcome us, offering food and drinks. Sometimes, they even gave us pocket money before we returned to the boarding school. These are fond memories from 35 years ago.”

“Even with thousands of supporters, the absence of parents can leave a void inside. I pray that he finds the strength to navigate through this challenge. May he find happiness in this life and the hereafter.”

“Perhaps his family isn’t financially well-off. Perhaps.”
