“The special char kuey teow costs RM59”

According to a video shared by the Penang Kini Facebook page, the customer had ordered a char kuey teow special at the time of the incident.

“The special char kuey teow comes with cockles, prawns, and an egg,” he said.

The vendor sarcastically stressed that the dish cost RM59 and “not RM59,000.” He said the customer was acting arrogantly, even asking for an extra half-boiled egg, but stormed off as soon as he heard the price.

In the clip, the vendor didn’t hold back, cursing the customer while also urging the public to support his stall.

“If you can’t afford it, just eat at a cheaper stall instead,” he said.

“What was he thinking charging RM59? Does he think it’s lobster, king crab, or lamb shank? Setting sky-high prices but still asking people to support him.”

“Requesting Ministry of Domestic Trade (KPDN) Penang to investigate the stall for their sky-high price.”

“He wants to ask for support but the price is that high, luckily that customer just walked away instead of cursing.”

“If it were me, I’d also walk away if I heard the price was RM59. At least be reasonable if you want to make a profit.”

“I still want to think positively, maybe this vendor was just joking. But if it’s really RM59, let me know the shop’s location in advance so I won’t go there.”
