The 2023 Malaysia Final Cup is scheduled to take place tomorrow (December 9) at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, KL. The football match will see the duel between Johor Darul Ta’zim FC and Terengganu FC.

However, the Malaysian Stadium Board (PSM) has given a heads-up to the football fans who will gather at the venue tomorrow – the field is not in good condition.

In a statement last night (December 7), PSM offered its sincerest apology to the finalists of the 2023 Malaysia Cup, as well as the fans who will be attending. PSM revealed that after Coldplay’s show, they did not have enough time to improve the condition of the field.

“We did not have enough time to repair and prepare the pitch to the optimum level after the Coldplay Concert which was held on November 22.”

Regardless of the condition, PSM assured the public that the Board remains committed to rectifying the standard operating procedure (SOP) when it comes to managing the stadium in the future.

Just recently, a clip showing damaged areas of the pitch circulated on social media, which drew the attention of JDT owner Tunku Ismail, who also shared the clip on his Instagram account.

On Monday, TMJ arrived at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium today and went to the field to oversee the condition, as well as observe the training of the Johor FC. On an IG story that has since expired, TMJ expressed what he felt about the condition of the field and if the game can still carry on.

“The game can still go on. But the quality of the match will be very low.”

Football enthusiasts, what do you think about the condition and the upcoming match?
