A Malaysian woman recently visited the Bazaar at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in KL but was shocked to find how pricey the items there were, including a cup of beverage.

The woman allegedly paid RM10 for JUST 1 cup of Asam Boi drink with lime.

In her viral TikTok post by mok.we60, she said that she initially asked the price before purchasing the beverage. However, she claimed that the vendor did not entertain her question and immediately poured the drink into the cup before eventually telling her the price while handing her the beverage.

A netizen pointed out that she reserved the right to decline anything as long as the prices were not disclosed.

The woman said that it was crowded at the time, and as a woman, she was afraid that the situation would escalate if she left without paying. So, she paid for the drink.

Many social media users were also shocked to learn about the pricing, and one also claimed that she paid for a portion of noodle soup that cost a whopping RM18.

Others commented on the hygiene practice of the beverage vendors in the area, saying that they have stopped buying drinks from the vendors there.

“Last year, these people went viral for making drinks with pipe water. The place wasn’t that clean, too, and DBKL raided the place. Can’t believe they’re still here.”

A user commented, “I suggest you forget about it if you want to buy anything at Jalan TAR. It used to be the hotspot for cheap items, but not anymore. It’s now T20 price.”

“I don’t dare to buy any drinks from here. I’ve seen how they made them,” said another.
