For those who do not know, the annual Hungry Ghost celebration will commence sometime this month, and this netizen took it upon himself to share precautions so that you will not encounter long-lost ‘buddies’ throughout the month.

In a two-series video, this netizen kicked this off by giving out the first few pantang larang.

“Do not go out at night. Do not take pictures outside at night. Do not sing outside during night time.”

“Avoid water-related activities. Do not scold children outside at night. You may meet someone you don’t want to meet,” he explained.

So, we see a theme developing here, as most of the warnings are related to events that happen at night.

In a corresponding video, he adds more to the list.

“Don’t pick up shiny objects, as they like to ‘stick’ to them. Try not to disturb the offerings that are burning and wait until they have died down,” he added.

The next one is creepy.

“When you hear someone calling your name at night, try not to turn and look or answer.”

He also said, “Do not loiter around roundabouts or crossroads. These are their favourite places.”

With the man stating that the Hungry Ghost month will start at 11 pm today, let’s all stay vigilant and try not to be too daring just for this month.
