Kelantan which is one of the poorest states in Malaysia has always had a host of problems in the state. From problems such as an increase in rape cases to log theft and illegal logging.
One of the most prevalent issues is the lack of clean water.
Recently, a Kelantanese netizen took to the Facebook page Warga Machang to share their shocking discovery.
In their post, they shared a picture of a sink in the children’s ward of Machang’s hospital. The tap water appears to be completely black and utterly disgusting.
They wrote, “(This is) the water in the children’s ward of Machang’s hospital. The nurses say that mothers do not shower. How do you even use the toilet like this.”
“The water in the toilet at the parking area is okay, but in the emergency ward the water is murky but not as bad as the water in the ward.”
PAS criticised for still not solving the state’s water issue
The image has gone viral on various social media platforms. Netizens were quick to condemn PAS, who is the party in control of the state, for still not solving the issue even though it has been a problem for so many years.
One netizen was shocked and tagged his friend to verify whether or not it is true. The friend then confirmed that it’s real since when he stayed in the ward for 3 days, the tap water was also black.
Despite the seriousness of the issue, some netizens on the other hand, made jokes about the colour of the water as resembling other liquids.
“Eh normally I heard that it’s just like teh ais? This time it’s like kopi o,” joked a user.
Another user commented, “Wow this is incredible, PAS is giving crude oil (away).”
Meanwhile, some users said that this is the sort of thing that should spur Kelantanese voters to vote against PAS in the next general election.
“The water is so horrible in Kelantan. Don’t tell me the leaders are just keeping quiet.”
“Please change your vote (in the) next GE. They can’t solve it for you. It’s a wake up call (for the) Kelantanese,” said another user.
