A bizarre and shocking encounter was recently revealed by a customer of an e-hailing service application, inDrive.
The shaken customer, Amirul took to Twitter on 8th April to share his terrifying experience with a rude e-hailing service driver.
The service experienced by Amirul was already off to a shaky start when the driver failed to pick him up at the assigned pick-up location. Refusing to make a fuss, Amirul walked to the driver at another pick-up spot and got inside the car.
Once inside, the driver randomly starts telling Amirul to not be scared while pointing towards a stethoscope in the car, assuring him that he is actually a doctor.
At the beginning of the journey, the driver almost collided with three vehicles and then proceeded to ask Amirul if he had a driving license. Amirul replied that he didn’t bring it with him this time.
The story takes a weird turn.
After Amirul’s reply, the driver suddenly begins to sob while screaming “Mummy! Mummy!” and then hits 3 three traffic cones along the SMART highway.
Fearing for his life, Amirul asks the driver if he could take over the wheel and urged him to pull over to the side of the road so that they could swap places.
At this point, Amirul is freaking out with racing thoughts about the condition of his safety as he is in the driver’s seat now while the erratic man sits at the back saying that he is sleepy and then eventually falls asleep for a while.
Fortunately, Amirul drives himself safely to his destination where his friend was waiting for him. Having seen that Amirul’s friend was a lady, the driver then forced Amirul to introduce the friend to him.
At this point, Amirul obviously just wanted to get away from the situation but the driver still had the nerve to demand payment of RM50 instead of paying the RM35 that was agreed-upon.
In the end, Amirul paid RM20 and he and his friend quickly left.
Since the incident, Amirul has received an apology from inDrive via Twitter and is waiting for further action after a scheduled phone call today.
Hi, Amirul! We're so sorry that you have to experience this. This type of behavior is not accepted in inDrive. Please send us a DM with the details and the phone number associated with your inDrive account. We will thoroughly investigate the case and take appropriate action.?

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Amirul said he often uses the inDrive app as customers are allowed to set their own prices during peak hours.
“Please be careful out there… According to people’s replies to my Tweet, inDrive is not registered yet under Malaysia’s Land Public Transport Agency but if you still use the app, please ensure the ratings of the driver is higher than 4.6 stars…”
