A DIY gift isn’t just a gift, it’s all about the time, effort, and love you put into it. It’s a fun way to express how you feel, adding your own personal touch to your relationship. In other words, it’s the thought and effort that really count.
In a recent touching video that has gone viral, @samelldn who is living in Perlis went above and beyond to craft DIY gifts for his then-girlfriend.
“I found the idea for the DIY gift after browsing on TikTok”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Samel shared how he created the gifts for his then-girlfriend’s birthday. He also revealed that he took the initiative to browse TikTok for gift ideas, which is where he got the inspiration for the DIY gifts.
“Whenever I came across gift videos that caught my eye, I would save them immediately so I could refer to them when I actually started making the DIY gifts.”
Adding his personal touch to the gift
Samel continued to explain that he wanted to create a DIY gifts because he believed its value would be different compared to buying.
He expressed that while there are many gifts available for purchase, he chose to create one himself just to add his own personal touch to it.
In the video, he was seen gathering all the necessary materials to create the gifts. He even went so far as to list out all of the gifts and shared it online for netizens to give it a try themselves.
He prepared 22 gifts in total!
Samel mentioned that it took him 4 months to complete the DIY gifts because it wasn’t easy to prepare 22 gifts simultaneously.
He went on to explain that during that time, he also had to raise money for the gifts and gather all the necessary items.
“Every day after class or on weekends, I would visit the store to purchase the items needed for the DIY gifts. I bought them gradually, and once I had all the items, I started crafting the gifts.”
Samel also revealed that although he’s no longer in a relationship with his girlfriend, they still remain good friends to this day.
Samel’s efforts definitely didn’t go unnoticed, as netizens flooded the comment section to show him love and support.
“I appreciate the effort you’ve put into this. Hopefully, your girlfriend will appreciate your gesture.”
“I really appreciate gestures like this. Maybe you should consider starting a class to teach other guys how to do the same.”
