Due to fear of getting fined for losing his MyKad (IC) for the 3rd time, a Malaysian man filed a false police report claiming he had been robbed.

According to a report by Kosmo, the 21-year-old man’s trick was foiled during an investigation into the police report he made at the Kuala Terengganu District Police Headquarters on Monday (April 21).

The Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd. Noor shared that, initially, the man claimed he was robbed in Kuala Ibai, Terengganu.

“He claimed that he was allegedly robbed by a man dressed in black and wearing a full-face helmet, riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle,”

“He claimed that the man initially asked for help to repair his broken motorcycle before suddenly hitting him in the mouth and back of his body with the helmet, and then ran away with his crossbody bag,” Azli Mohd. Noor explained.

The man got caught in a lie!

However, further investigations later found that the incident had never actually happened.

Azli Mohd. Noor said that the crossbody bag containing the man’s personal belongings, including his IC, had dropped when he was involved in a fight with another man in Kampung Gong Rok Nasik.

“He was worried about being heavily fined by the National Registration Department (JPN) for losing his MyKad for the 3rd time and had made a false report about being robbed after it was suggested by one of his friends,” he added.
