After years of hard work and dedication, it was the big day for this Malaysian academician as during the recent convocation ceremony in Universiti Malaya, she finally received her PhD doctorate. Congrats!

To celebrate the big day, her close friends knew exactly what to do. Rather than bringing her flower bouquets, they brought her K-Pop bias instead, well at least a human-sized cutout of him.

Going viral on TikTok, @mirahhhwr knows that her friend, Dr Natasya is a huge fan of Scoups of the K-pop band Seventeen.

Hence, she and another friend plotted to surprise the UM PhD graduate with a life-sized cutout of Scoups during the convocation ceremony at UM.

In the TikTok video, which has garnered over 268,000 views as of the time of writing, Dr Natasya can be seen walking through the crowds toward her friends and grinning after spotting the Scoups cutout.

The 3 friends then laughed before Dr Natasya, with her PhD scroll in hand, posed with the Scoups cutout while smiling from ear to ear.

In another TikTok video, @mirahhhwr shared the struggles of bringing the life-sized cutout to the convocation.

Dr Natasya posing with the Scoups cutout has a different layer of meaning to it as the K-Pop idol famously said years ago to his fans this statement, “Bring your diploma”. Scoups’ words have since been used by his fans to study.
