If you visit Malaysia, you’ll see lots of cats wandering around all over the place. Most of them are strays without a proper home or care. Many Malaysians have taken these stray cats in as pets, looking after them and giving them food and care.
These compassionate individuals are the true superheroes, especially when they nurse stray cats back to health. In a recent video posted by @naniandcookies, she shares the story of how she came across a stray cat that she now owns and calls Grey.
The cat had paralysed legs
In the video, a woman (Nani) is seen gently carrying the stray cat (Grey) in a box, rescuing it because she noticed it was hungry and struggling to walk.
Nani shared how she found Grey about a year ago by the side of the road. As she approached Grey, she noticed that Grey couldn’t walk at all due to its paralysis.
The doctor suggested putting Grey to sleep to end its suffering
Nani expressed her shock upon seeing Grey walk in such condition, which led her to take Grey to the vet in Seri Kembangan. After an x-ray scan, it was revealed that Grey had suffered from broken bones in its legs, causing serious pain.
Due to Grey’s critical condition, the vet suggested that Grey should be put to sleep to end its suffering.
“It was the hardest decision I had to make. I was torn between following the vet’s advise to end its pain or taking on the challenge of nursing Grey back to health myself.”
Nani went out of her way and made the decision to care for Grey, hoping that one day it would regain its health.
Grey made progress just after 3 weeks!
With proper care and medicine, Nani revealed that after 3 weeks of feeding Grey with a syringe, Grey is now finally able to eat on its own from a bowl.
In addition to Grey’s progress, it was later revealed that Grey is also able to move around again by dragging its body since 2 of its legs weren’t working.
She also mentioned that Grey is currently undergoing rehab to help it walk better, and how Grey is getting along with her other cat named Oyen.
Grey is being well taken care of!
Nani continued to express her gratitude and pride in having met Grey, noting how well and healthy Grey has become, especially after a year since she took it in.
“Grey is a priceless gift sent to me. Thank you for believing in me, Grey.”
