By now, many Malaysians, especially concertgoers are well aware that many foreign singers are skipping Malaysia for their world tour this year, which includes Taylor Swift, K-pop star Taeyeon, and American rapper Post Malone.

While many can only hope for a last-minute change, some Malaysian netizens took some time to nudge our busy PM, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Twitter, where they “cried” for help from the PM to bring in Taylor Swift for a show here.

This “parade” comes after Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau issued an official request for Taylor Swift to perform in the country.

At the time of writing (10 July), Taylor has yet to respond to Justin’s request and the Swifties in Canada are still unsure if they will ever get to see the American pop star perform in their country this year.

Justin’s effort has initiated a move from Malaysian netizens who took the chance to tag PM Anwar on Twitter, in the hope that he will do something to bring in Taylor Swift. The Twitter page, Terpaling Swifty Era is eagerly waiting for the next meeting session between Anwar and the public.

“Can somebody please ask him if he is willing to write an officially letter to Taylor Swift & ask her to come to Malaysia? The PM of Thailand and Canada have done so.”

According to a tweet by Taylor Swift’s fan page, here’s a list of world leaders who have requested for Taylor to perform in their respective countries.

“Your move, PM Anwar”

In the meantime, check out the tweets from some Malaysian netizens who expressed their wish to see PM Anwar doing something to bring in Taylor Swift.

A netizen suggested Taylor follow suit on what Coldplay once did for Malaysia – cleaning our rivers.

“Good day PM. I need Taylor Swift for a show here in Malaysia.”

“Can I ask PM to request for Taylor Swift just like what Justin did?”

Another netizen asked the PM to bring in Taylor Swift and in exchange, she promised to be a law-abiding citizen.

There are more tweets from Malaysian netizens to the PM about bringing Taylor Swift into our country, and you can simply look them up on Twitter by typing “Anwar Ibrahim Taylor Swift”. You’ll be amazed by the power of Taylor Swift!

As of now, the PM has yet to entertain the Malaysian netizens, but do you think there’s hope for the American pop star to perform here in Malaysia?
