In the era of ever-booming technology, the progress of digital products have only made certain processes more difficult to learn as time goes on. As children of the 21st century, we’ve all had that moment of trying to teach our elders how to use their smartphones correctly. Using a pretty effective yet archaic method, one handphone retail shop seems to have solved that problem in a neat way.
Malaysian phone retailer EC Mobile Wholesales in Larkin, Johor, recently shared a clip to their TikTok page @ecmobile.jb after creating a booklet which teaches elderly people how to use their smartphones.
Flipping through the pages, the tiny book began by showing which app needs to be used for chats, which is WhatsApp, and which app to call people on, that is the Phone app. In a cheeky yet light-hearted display, the shop also listed Facebook as the app to find recipes and viral news, while YouTube was listed as the place to watch free movies.
Diving into the WhatsApp application, the booklet also showed which features can be used to send an image or a video, how to send a message, and how to send a voice note.
Entertaining multiple people online, various individuals were tickled by how unique this creation was, with one person saying that this was a friendly-user guideline.
On the other hand, some people said in jest how this booklet will also cause problems, as some of their elders don’t know how to read printed material.
“Even when we teach them, they’ll forget it the next day. Oh how tired we are,” jokingly added another user.
Nevertheless, some users also found a light-hearted take through the guideline, saying that this creation is actually very handy, as those advanced in age can appreciate this method of learning how to use their phones.
