Do we really owe anyone an explanation about how we see fit to dress up when we’re going out? Or, are we responsible for the influence we indirectly and unknowingly bring to others?

Of course, if there are dress codes to follow in official settings, many of us happily follow the rules to avoid unwanted consequences. A Malaysian man, however, was not happy to see how many women today “are not wearing pants”. The Facebook page 大马资讯网  has since reshared a deleted post where a man expressed his disappointment in seeing how some women dress today.

“What kind of trend is this? How do we explain to the kids when they see it?”

According to the man, he noticed many elderlies were shaking their head out of disappointment after seeing women dressed in oversized shirts, covering their shorts entirely. This makes them appear as if they’re not wearing any pants. The man also claimed to have spotted some perverts trying to peek what’s inside the shirt.

“I’ve seen some perverts who tried to hide below the escalators and peeked their way up to see what’s inside the shirt.”

“This isn’t a trend, this is…”

In the deleted post, the man urged all women out there to stop this fashion sense – the “no pants” fashion.

“Don’t you feel cold? Don’t you feel awkward? This is not a trend, this is something weird! It’s a form of respect to wear something decent.”

The end of the post is where the man got a little bit personal as he commented on the body parts, saying, “sometimes there are scars or insect bite marks on your skin. You don’t look good in that attire, at all.”

You want to dress up like a mummy?

Following his criticism about how these women appeared to half naked, the netizens in return criticised him for judging those who wear whatever they see fit.

“As long as they’re comfortable, then it’s good enough. They don’t have to be what you want to see.”

“I guess this guy is a fan of dressing up like a mummy.”

“As a man, I urge you to mind your own business.”

“You have 2 choices – do you want to see women dressing like this, or men dressing like this?”

“This is ridiculous. I don’t think he’ll wear that much clothes when the weather is hot. If you’re so traditional, stop posting and debating about it.”

“As a woman, I urged you to mind your own business. I like wearing like this.”

Ladies, what do you think about this man’s criticism? Do you think this trend and fashion is weird?
