Malaysian food has always made it big overseas, with many locals taking to foreign countries to sell our cuisine.

One of those people who have done the same and is making a name for himself through selling Nasi Lemak in China is Chef Shah.

Chinese foodie, EatAi亦太(HalalFoodie), took to his TikTok account to showcase Malaysian Chef Shah and his eatery in Shanghai, One Coconut One Rice.

EatAi亦太(HalalFoodie)wrote, “The best Nasi Lemak in Shanghai, China. My friend, Chef Chah, a Malaysian who’s promoting Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik in China.”

In the video, EatAi亦太(HalalFoodie), who can speak Malay, had a conversation with Chef Shah, who can speak Mandarin, about his experience in selling Nasi Lemak in China.

“Chef Shah, how long have you been in China?” EatAi亦太(HalalFoodie)asked, to which Chef Shah replied in Mandarin and Malay, “15 years.”

Chef Shah then showed EatAi亦太(HalalFoodie)his kitchen, where he makes Nasi Lemak along with all kinds of side dishes, with his younger brother. He also emphasised that he uses Halal ingredients to make his delicious dishes.

“(In) one day, I can, plus delivery, I can sell almost 400 plus (Nasi Lemak),” Chef Shah informed, adding that the people in Shanghai love Nasi Lemak.
