Ever since the number of Covid-19 cases has been on the rise in Malaysia, our hardworking medical staff are on the front lines giving everything they’ve got to treat the increasing number of patients. The country’s health has hit a worrying state, to a point where our Prime Minister to announced the Movement Control Order in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Without these dedicated medical teams who are risking their lives, patients would be left unattended and things could possibly progress to be far worse than they already are.

The rising toll of Covid-19 cases demands all hands on deck and some of these medical staff have been working continuously for hours. The least we can do for them is to practice our social responsibility and just stay at home.

Doctors and nurses have taken to their social media to convey their plea to the public, urging them to stay at home and allow the medical teams to do their jobs in the hospitals for the betterment of everyone. Hashtags such as #stayhome and #dudukrumah have been trending on social media platforms accompanied with pictures of medical staffs on the front lines.

According to Malaysiakini, the man who started this trend is a doctor named Gee Teak Sheng from Pantai Hospital, Penang. His post has garnered over 66,000 shares and it has started an online movement for doctors and nurses all around Malaysia.

We thank everyone who has been working around the clock to look after the Covid-19 patients and the public. You are Malaysia’s knights in shining armour and you will always be our heroes. We hope the public can also play their part during this Movement Control Order and help in curbing the spread of Covid-19.
