Although casting votes during a state election was the highlight of plenty of people’s days yesterday (August 12), one groom-to-be had to cast his vote on the way to his wedding.
Abdul Qayyim Roslan’s first stop was to cast his vote in the Selangor state assembly elections, and he arrived at the polling centre at SMK Seri Keramat at 7:57 am in a white Baju Melayu with samping.
In an interview with Harian Metro, Qayyim said, “This is my responsibility as a Malaysian citizen, so it is very important that I do this first. I have talked to my future wife and she agreed that I should vote first.”
“As soon as I finish voting, I will go to Selayang for my solemnisation ceremony.”
Meanwhile, he said his future bride would cast her ballot immediately after the ceremony in the afternoon.
Congratulations to the newlyweds, and we wish them all the best!
