MCO 2.0 is in full swing and the authorities are out to catch those flouting the standard operating procedures (SOP), including those who don’t wear masks or register at a location.

An individual was fined RM1,000 for not registering with the MySejahtera app while at a bank to use the ATM machine.

A photo sighted on Facebook shows the fine issued to the individual on 17 January at CIMB Bank Taman Chukai Utama, Terengganu.

The fine reads:

“Did not check in through the MySejahtera application.”

This is not the first time a fine was issued for not registering with the app. Previously on 9 November 2020, an individual was allegedly fined at a petrol station after failing to register with the app even though he was wearing a mask and did not enter the premises.

It’s easy to skip registering with the app thinking no one would notice, but to avoid the hassle of having to fork out RM1,000 for not doing a simple task, let’s make sure that we comply with the SOPs wherever we go. Stay safe!
