Khairul Aming’s Rembayung opened its doors today (6 January) after weeks of hype following the celebrity chef’s announcement about the restaurant last month.
Unfortunately, scammers are already pretending to represent the restaurant and attempting to collect a hefty “reservation fee” from potential patrons of the eatery.

One customer was asked to pay a whopping RM300 for the reservation fee, and the ‘admin’ even provided a personal account number for the purpose.

A screenshot was shared on Threads, showing a user enquiring about Rembayung’s reservation process with an account posing as the restaurant. In a straightforward response, the owner of the fake account asked for RM300.
Fortunately, the Threads user did not rush to pay the “reservation fees” and sought clarification from other social media users.
If you’re not already aware, Rembayung is fully booked until next Monday (12 January), and Khairul Aming will only reopen the reservation system at the end of each week.
Currently, Rembayung requires a minimum of two guests and allows a maximum of eight guests per reservation. Here’s one important thing to keep in mind.
Guests only have to pay a deposit of RM10 each

The reservation website clearly outlines the rules and regulations, including deposit requirements and a 15-minute table holding period, and the seats will be released to other guests if you do not arrive on time.
In case you need to be in touch with the admin of Rembayung, you can reach out to them via their official Instagram and TikTok accounts.
