In a recent story shared by @update11111, a man (let’s call him Amin) recounted his experience of getting his car hit by a Datin on August 8th at an apartment in Petaling Jaya.
He described how, at the time of the incident, he had just picked up a passenger from the apartment and was heading to the guard house to exit the premises.
The Datin reversed her car and bumped into his
When Amin reached the guardhouse, he saw a white luxury car that was being driven by the Datin in front of him and stopped to wait for his turn to pass through the barrier gate.
While waiting, he claims that the white car began to reverse, so he honked to alert her that he was behind. Despite honking several times, the white car eventually backed into his vehicle.
“When the Datin got out of her car, she assured me she would cover the damage to my vehicle. She then handed me her business card with her contact information, including her phone number.”
“She said I hit her car”
Amin went to the workshop to get a quote for fixing his car and the mechanic called the Datin using the number from her business card.
Amin alleges that, “when the mechanic spoke to her, she said I was the one who hit her car, not the other way around. Luckily, my dashcam recorded the whole thing, but I was still confused.”
Because of the Datin’s claim that he was at fault, Amin decided to file a police report. To make matters worse, he also found out that the Datin allegedly hadn’t paid her road tax and insurance for months.
He’s left to cover the costs on his own
Amin explained that since the Datin hadn’t been paying her road tax and refused to cover the costs, he was left to pay for everything out of his own pocket.
He vented his frustration, saying,
“If that’s the case, I could just skip paying road tax and insurance too. I could pretend like I’m willing to cover the cost if I hit someone’s car, and then ignore their calls if they try to reach out to me.”
