Although it is fair for everyone to have their very own preference when it comes to finding an ideal partner, is it right to decide against marrying someone just because of what they’re currently working as?

In a screenshot of a story which has recently been circulating on various social media platforms, a woman shared the story of when she bumped into her ex at the RM2.40 shop.

In the screenshot of the message, the woman wrote, “I bumped into my ex (who I dated during form 6). I remember when we were dating, we promised each other that before we get married, we would work hard to become teachers.”

“But I didn’t expect to see you working at the RM2 .40 shop. So it’s okay, I wish you all the best and pray for your success.”

Judgmental much?

A screenshot of her post has since gone viral on Twitter where netizens slammed her for thinking so lowly of her ex.

“It’s okay. At least he is working and that work is halal. We do not know what will happen in the future.”

One user commented, “Maybe he hasn’t got his posting yet. Do you think that with an education degree it is easy to get jobs? Maybe he is working part time to collect money to marry another girl. A girl who doesn’t look down on him like you do.”

“Today’s world, someone’s worth is related to their work, if you think this type of work is too humiliating, then just work in the office. Low and narrow minded,” commented another user.
