As cute as your pets can be, not all places allow you to bring along your pet cats or dogs, and everyone is expected to follow the rules for the convenience of the public.

In the Facebook group Bukit Sentosa/Beruntung resident, a Malaysian, Tahir Salam, who runs a Mamak restaurant in Bukit Sentosa, Hulu Selangor recently shared an image of a couple of women who caused a debate online after they were spotted with their pet dog in the restaurant. According to the post, 1 of the women arrived at the Mamak restaurant and ordered her food, before the 2nd one reached with her pet dog, which the restaurant worker was initially not aware of.

Upon realising the situation, 1 of the workers told the customers with the pet dog about the concern and fortunately, no confrontations took place.

“Both customers apologised before they left the restaurant.”

In another post in the group, Tahir revealed that he had immediately asked 1 of his workers to clean the table thoroughly after the incident.

“This is not a drill, it really happened. What’s important is we took immediate action and learned from the situation.”

“A ‘No Pets’ sign would be helpful”

Many netizens condemn the act of those customers who brought their pet dog to the Mamak restaurant, and said it’s a common sense to not bring pets to eateries. In the meantime, other netizens also praised Tahir and the team for their prompt action.

“There should be a ‘no pets’ sign at a place where it is usually crowded.”

“The prompt action shows how careful the team is. The customers also have to keep in mind that no pets are allowed at the restaurants. Adding a signage would be helpful.”

“This has nothing to do with race, it is merely hygiene,” a netizen reminded.

“Thank you for caring about the customers.”

“Thank God it was resolved without any fight or confrontation. Hopefully, history doesn’t repeat itself again.”

To those who own a pet, do you usually bring your pet out to the eateries?
